BHCA Nationals 2010
I don’t know the exact number of dogs that Nooge competed against but we counted up over 240 entered at Nationals. It took 3 days to eliminate all the bassets down to a final few… the best of the best. The third day is when all the champions showed. The bitches and dogs were all broken into 3 smaller groups each with only a few making a cut from each group to compete against one another. A second cut was then made before the remaing few returned together to compete against the bassets from the first two day’s shows.
The sexy black basset that Bethany is showing is Toby, BISS Ch Sasquatch Talk About Me, ROM, CGC… Noogent and Norman’s daddy. We love that guy for so many reasons and we were mighty thrilled he was a part of the exciting week too. Congrats to him for his BBHC’s Select Dog placement! He is such a character it is hard not to want a carbon copy of him on your sofa.
Thanks to Brett for taking the movies while I snapped still shots. I don’t want to put the professional’s video on here since it is copyrighted. So you will have to grin and bear our old point and shoot’s camera’s video capture mode. heehee

All the clapping really turned on Nooge’s turbo toes much to Jane’s chagrin. Didn’t help when he cut her off thinking it was time to leave the ring. Of course, all happening right where the rubber matting buckled catching her shoe. Thankfully he got to go around again so Mr Sweet Tater could strut his stuff a little more civilized. LOL He gets jazzed up then wants to run and play.
We are still so proud of Gramma Jane and her little boy out in the ring
that we might just stay on cloud nine for a few months!Nooge is our first show dog, our first champion, and that was our very first nationals that we have seen and to have experienced all this… it is still all too surreal to completely take in. Thank you never seems enough but THANK YOU Gramma Jane Baetz & Auntie Bethany Berger for this exciting adventure!!!!
With a Smirnoff/margarita in hand… here is to the next generations of OFB kids.

Best of BreedNot only getting to see one of my dearest friends, Gramma Jane Baetz – Olde Fashion Bassets, shine in the ring after 39 years of pure love, hard work, and never ending dedication to this breed but that she shined with our little sweet tater, Noogent, makes my heart skip a beat!!! This was only Noogent’s 5th weekend to ever be in a ring and that duo truly brought tears to my eyes. Jane, you are an amazing handler, breeder and most of all a true friend who inspires me every day. Lots of Congrats to you my dear & to Auntie Bethany J. Berger!!! And thank you from our hearts for letting us have the little goofball, lover boy! Our world revolves around all our four legged kids… those with wonderfully fun titles and those who don’t need them to fill our hearts with pride and joy.
